About MadCAP
Inspiring and Nurturing
Talents in the Performing Arts
School of the Arts......MadCAP's
School of the Arts provides opportunities
for people of all ages to work with professional teaching artists in creatively
challenging projects that inspired and nurture talents in the performing
arts.
MadCAP's Studio is centrally located in downtown Madison so that young
people from throughout Madison and the surrounding communities can
develop their artistic talents within the context of a community of
supportive and caring teaching artists.
Theatre for Young
Audiences.....MadCAP
believes that it is important for families to find guidance and comfortable
ways to share and discuss ideas and concern with their children. To
reach this goal, MadCAP chooses classic stories with positive,
life-affirming themes.
Last year, MadCAP
expanded programming to include theatrical productions designed by
talented professional theatre artists and performed by adult actors and
young people. MadCAP's NEW Theatre for Young audiences program
performs for Wisconsin's young audience members.
All MadCAP Programs.....
are open to all people without regard to race, creed, ethnic
background, physical or mental disability or income level. (MadCAP
School of the Arts programs are open-enrollment. Participants are
placed in programs depending on age and experience. Cast members
for MadCAP Theatre for Young Audiences are selected during auditions
open to the public.) Tuition fees and ticket sales are waived or pro-rated
for low income families based on the US Government’s
Housing and Urban Development poverty guidelines.
