Joan
McCarthy, Executive Director
Joan founded MadCAP twelve years ago. Joan holds a Masters degree in
Educational Psychology from UW Madison with an emphasis on Gifted &
Talented. Before MadCAP she was a classroom teacher, a Learning
Disabilities teacher, a science teacher for gifted students, a
puppeteer and a mother. She has served as MadCAP’s Executive
Director since 1995. As an artist, Joan creates puppets for MadCAP
productions.

Kjerstie Johanson~ Artistic
Director
Kjerstie holds degrees in Music Education and Music Therapy and has
worked in hospital, school, and creative arts settings. A musician
and composer, Kjerstie teaches private lessons in voice and piano.
Kjerstie has been teaching with MadCAP since 1999 and has over 14
years of teaching experience. Kjerstie is MadCAP’s Artistic Director
and oversees the Music Studio as well as the Artistic programming.

Paul Milisch ~
Producing Director
Paul joined MadCAP's staff last summer as the Producing Director and
has worked with MadCAP since 2005. He holds a B.A. in Performing
Arts Education. Paul works with MaddCAP as a Stage Director. As the
producing Director, Paul oversees the design and implementation of
all of the productions. Paul has been seen on stage in produdction
of Batboy! The Musical, Hair and ART.

Evy
Gildrie-Voyles ~ Theatre
Arts
Evy
is an actress, monologist and teaching artist.
She holds a BA in Theater and English from Oberlin college an MA in
Theater History from University of Illinois. She moved to Madison from
New Jersey where she worked for two years with Shoestring Players as an
actress and workshop leader performing and teaching creative drama and
creative writing in classrooms across NJ, PA and NY. Evy is a Stage
Director for MadCAP and the Director for the Improv Performance Ensemble.

Kathryn Ambler ~ Theatre Arts
Kathryn is a local actress and singer. She holds and BFA in Musical
Theatre from UW-Stevens Point, and an MFA in Theatre from UN Las
Vegas. She moved to Madison from Milwaukee where she worked at
Discovery World Science Museum as a performer and classroom teacher.
Kathryn also teaches acting to older elementary and middle school
students at Forte Studios in Mt. Horeb.
Katie Gletty-Syeon ~
Theatre
Arts
Katie holds a BS in Theatre
from Illinois State University and an MA in Theatre Research
with a Specialization in Theatre
for Young Audiences. She has many years experience teaching in
classroom and non-traditional settings. Katie works with younger
ensembles teaching acting and musical theatre movement.

Greg Reed ~ Theatre Arts
Greg is honored to be in his first MadCAP production and has enjoyed
every minute. When not on stage, he can be found in the classroom as
a substitute teacher for Madison Public Schools.
Greg received his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of
Wisconsin-Madison in Theatre & Drama (Acting Specialist) and
Psychology. Last year, Greg performed as Toad in A Year with
Frog and Toad as part of MadCAP’s Theatre for Young
Audiences. Greg has directed and taught with MadCAP since last
summer.
Brigid Ryan
~ Music
Brigid worked
with MadCAP during the summer of 2006 as an intern and has since
completed a B.A. in Vocal Performance from St. Mary’s University in
Winona, MN. She joined MadCAP’s artistic staff in January of 2007.
Brigid works in the Music Studio as a voice and piano teacher. She
is also a Musical Director in the Ensemble program. When not
teaching, Brigid serves as MadCAP’s Educational Program Coordinator
which includes registering students, coordinating school and group
attendance at theatre performances, and scheduling outreach

Holly Scarborough ~ Music
Holly holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Wheaton
Conservatory of Music and is expecting to complete her Instrumental
Music Teaching Certification from UW-Madison in Fall 2006. During her
past three years at MadCAP, she has provided musical instruction for
the productions of “Little Women”, “Patchwork Girl o9f Oz”, and “Rats!
The story of the Pied Piper”. IN her private studio, Holly specializes
in teaching beginning/intermediate pianists, flutists of all levels,
