Intermediate Performance Ensemble (Students currently in grades 6-8)

Intermediate Ensemble takes an active role in choosing their music and developing their musical medleys with scenes from the musicals that they perform.

This group meets on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 PM. Dates of sessions can be found on our calendar.

By the end of the Intermediate Musical Theatre experience, students should have mastered the following skills:

* Ability to sing independently in parts meeting all previous benchmarks
* Ability to compose simple 8-bar melody and lyrics for a new song
* Ability to read two part choral music and identify all musical symbols as introduced
* Ability to analyze and describe differences between musical theater selections using appropriate music terms
* Ability to distinguish between styles and musical timbre in musical theater.
