If you are auditioning for a Musical, please
prepare a monologue as well as a musical selection. For more
information about preparing your monologue, please go to the
Play
Auditions page
To prepare your musical
audition,
please prepare 60 seconds of a song from the musical theater repertoire.
-
An accompanist will be available to play
during your
audition; please bring your music with you.
-
It is highly recommended that participants
avoid popular music, songs
from movies, or Disney songs.
-
Some possible pieces are "Hello Dolly" (from
Hello, Dolly), "Do Re
Mi" (From Sound of Music), or "Getting to Know You" (from The King and
I). The lyrics for these pieces are available on-line.
-
When auditioning, it is recommended that
participants introduce the
piece, the show the piece is from, and (of course) themselves. It
is
always helpful to mention something about the piece you are
performing (please see example below).
-
My name is ______________________________.

Something interesting about the piece is
