Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible,

No Good, Very Bad Day

Book and Lyrics by Judith Viorst

Music by Shelly Markham

May 10 at 1:00 & 4:00 PM, 2008

Performances for school audiences ~ if you are interested in attending a school day performance, please call for availability

Celebrated author Judith Viorst’s book was nominated by the American Library Association

as a Notable Children’s Book. Poor Alexander is having the worst day of his life which includes gum in his hair, no dessert in his lunchbox and worst of all, kissing on TV! Follow him on his day as he learns how to cope with things out of his control.  Approximate time: 1 hour

Curriculum Connection: Several times throughout Alexander’s day he’ll talk about moving away. This can lead to discussions about running away from problems. Thinking about these issues and talking about them encourages children to understand their own feelings and actions.
